Objection Number 4: The Synagogue of Satan!

Response by Bob Parham

Another objection is given that “The People/Government of Israel aren’t/isn’t of God.  They belong to Satan, so we shouldn’t want to go there.” bad-people-government

I’ve heard it said that “The government is evil, run by Satan himself. The people aren’t really ‘Jews’: they are just ‘Zionists’, trying to take the land for personal benefit.”

I agree that the government of Israel today isn’t a government that rules itself completely by Torah.   It has many problems and has made many mistakes, I’m sure. There are even perverted, corrupt, evil, anti-God people living in the country.  So, is this a reason to not go to Jerusalem for the Pilgrimage Feasts as required by Torah?   NO!

What was the government like when Yeshua and Paul were there? Did the Sanhedrin or a Jewish governing body run Israel?   No, the extremely pagan and corrupt Romans ran it.

Josephus, a First Century historian, described how the Romans would take Yeshua’s followers and sew them up in animal skins in an arena and then set wild dogs or lions on them to rip them apart alive. They were certainly evil people.

That fact didn’t keep Yeshua or His disciples out.  They still went to Jerusalem as prescribed.

Remember the twelve “spies”?

To say that we shouldn’t go to Jerusalem because the people and/or government is evil sounds a lot like what the ten spies said to Moses when they returned from spying out the land.

Numbers 13:26-31 – (26) Now they [the spies] departed and came back to Moses and Aaron and all the congregation of the children of Israel in the Wilderness of Paran, at Kadesh; they brought back word to them and to all the congregation, and showed them the fruit of the land.  (27) Then they told him, and said: “We went to the land where you sent us.  It truly flows with milk and honey, and this is its fruit.  (28) NEVERTHELESS the people who dwell in the land are strong; the cities are fortified and very large; moreover we saw the descendants of Anak there. (29) The Amalekites dwell in the land of the South; the Hittites, the Jebusites, and the Amorites dwell in the mountains; and the Canaanites dwell by the sea and along the banks of the Jordan.”  (30)  Then Caleb quieted the people before Moses, and said, “Let us go up at once and take possession, for we are well able to overcome it.”  (31) But the men who had gone up with him said, “We are not able to go up against the people, for they are stronger than we.”

The descendants of Anak were giants. The Amalekites represent “sin” throughout scripture.  “Oh, Moses, the people there are BAD, EVIL people.   We shouldn’t go into the land as YAH has commanded us to!”

When YAH heard their response, what did He have to say to them?

Numbers 14:30-35 – (30) Except for Caleb the son of Jephunneh and Joshua the son of Nun, you shall by no means enter the land which I swore I would make you dwell in.  (31) But your little ones, whom you said would be victims, I will bring in, and they shall know the land which you have despised.  (32) But as for you, your carcasses shall fall in this wilderness. (33) And your sons shall be shepherds in the wilderness forty years, and bear the brunt of your infidelity, until your carcasses are consumed in the wilderness.   (34) According to the number of the days in which you spied out the land, forty days, for each day you shall bear your guilt one year, namely forty years, and you shall know My rejection. (35) I the Lord have spoken this. I will surely do so to all this evil congregation who are gathered together against Me. In this wilderness they shall be consumed, and there they shall die.’”

Yah told the people that they and their SONS would bear the brunt of their infidelity!  The Hebrew word used here is still the word used today for “prostitute”.   I don’t want this said of me because I didn’t want to go into the land just because some evil people are there; do you?

billonair-quoteSome say that Yah didn’t rebuild Israel and Jerusalem – The billionaires of the new world order rebuilt it. Some will go on to state that the Masons have been very instrumental in causing Israel to come together as a new nation, NOT GOD, therefore it isn’t the real Israel!

Well, that might sound like a good point at first (assuming it is true), but let’s check to see if Yah has ever used kings or billionaires of  pagan kingdoms to rebuild Jerusalem.

Well, yes, He sure has!  King Cyrus also known as; “The Great King, King of Persia, King of Anshan, King of Media, King of Babylon, King of Sumer and Akkad, and King of the Four Corners of the World”, rebuilt Jerusalem and the “House of God”.

2 Chronicles 36:22-23 – “Now in the first year of Cyrus king of    Persia, that the word of the LORD by the mouth of Jeremiah might   be fulfilled, the LORD stirred up the spirit of Cyrus king of Persia, so that he made a proclamation throughout all his kingdom and also put it in writing: ‘Thus says Cyrus king of Persia, “The LORD, the God of heaven, has given me all the kingdoms of the earth, and he has charged me to build him a house at Jerusalem, which is in Judah. Whoever is among you of all his people, may the LORD his God be with him. Let him go up.”’”

This pagan king is important in Jewish history because it was under his rule that Jews were first allowed to return to Israel after 70 years of captivity.  Yes, Yah used a PAGAN KING to rebuild the city of Jerusalem and the Temple of Yah! If Yah could use pagan kings and the gold of pagans to rebuild Jerusalem once, could He do it again?

Let’s take a look at a prophecy in Isaiah.

Isaiah 60:8-10 –  “Who are these that fly along like clouds, like doves to their nests?Surely the islands look to me; in the lead are the ships of Tarshish, bringing your children from afar, with their silver and gold, to the honor of the Lord your God, the Holy One of Israel, for he has endowed you with splendor.  10  “Foreigners will rebuild your walls, and their kings will serve you. Though in anger I struck you, in favor I will show you compassion. 11 Your gates will always stand open, they will never be shut, day or night, so that people may bring you the wealth of the nations— their kings led in triumphal procession. 12 For the nation or kingdom that will not serve you will perish; it will be utterly ruined.

It sounds like it will happen again doesn’t it!

It did happen again in 1948.   Israel was re-established as a Jewish nation.  Pagan gold was used to accomplish this amazing thing, which allowed Jews to return to their land, just like with King Cyrus.  Jerusalem has been rebuilt already, but not the House (Temple) of Yah.   Will it, too, be rebuilt before the Ezekiel temple?  I don’t know. But even when the Ezekiel temple is rebuilt, Foreigners will rebuild your walls, and their kings will serve you.”

Yah can use pagan money and governments to do His bidding. Yah can use donkeys to do His bidding. He can use frogs, lice and anything else He chooses to do His bidding.  He is YAH!

The people or government in the Land, whether in the apostle Paul’s day or in our own day, shouldn’t determine whether we are going to obey Yah’s commands or not.   If it didn’t affect Yeshua, why should it affect you or me?

Let’s keep Yah’s commands regardless of who is in the land. There may be very evil people there today, but Yah promises that we will meet with Him there!

. . . mine eyes and mine heart shall be there perpetually.  1 Kings 9:3

  1. I’m glad to have read this post. I’ve read similar arguments before. But it is clear what the role of the nations would be in the restoration of Israel (I’m also thinking about Isaiah 49:22). Somebody wrote it is a ploy to bring together God’s chosen people in one place so that they could be easily destroyed in one go–but can they? Even Gog and Magog will not prevail against God’s people–in that time, I think the safest place to be is in Israel!

    1. Personally, I think the ‘safest’ place to be is wherever Yah sends me!! We have learned from experience that if we are in His Hands, we are safe no matter what the odds look like. Makes me think of the scriptures where He tells His people that if they will trust Him, “A thousand may fall at your side, ten thousand at your right hand, but it will not come near you.” (Ps 91:7) But I’d still rather be in Israel!! 😀 😀 😀

      1. Yes, yes, to be within His will is the safest. The enemy may be able to destroy our body, but we are not to be afraid, rather of the One who can destroy both body and soul (Matt 10:28).

He fills every space (Jeremiah 23:24), but yes–how wonderful it would be to be in Israel! 🙂 ❤
